MyGTCS has moved

Your MyGTCS account has now been transferred over to the new platform. Access MyGTCS .
You must activate your account before logging into the new MyGTCS platform for the first time. You should have received an email with instructions on how to do this.
We will have sent these activation instructions to the email address previously registered on your MyGTCS account, with the subject 'Activate your MyGTCS account’

What is MyGTCS?

MyGTCS is your personalised and secure web portal from GTC Scotland that's only available to teachers and college lecturers with Provisional or Full Registration with GTC Scotland.

All information is stored securely on our database until such time as a user chooses to unsubscribe or de-register.

What can I do in MyGTCS?

View and update your personal details.
View and contribute to any portfolios, profiles or reports.
View newsletter subscriptions.
Gain access to additional services provided by GTC Scotland.

Password resets

If you forget your password, please use the password reset link on the MyGTCS login page.

If you do not receive the password reset email, check your email junk/spam folder. You may also wish to check that your mailbox is not at capacity. If it is then please first resolve this issue, before requesting another password reset. If you still haven't received the password reset use our contact form.

If you are unable to receive a password reset due to no longer being able to access the email account that you have used for your MyGTCS record and are unable to reset your password via the registered mobile number, please contact us.

“Invalid username or password” error message
This happens if a password is misspelt or capitals have been missed etc. Make sure you are not using a forward slash, spaces or full stops.

“We have not been able to verify your username, password or date of birth” message
Please use our contact form, stating the error.

Forgotten your username?
For those accessing MyGTCS with a username (such as a non-teacher line manager or Student Placement System user), this should be in a format of NM1234 or STR12345.

If you have forgotten your username, please use our contact form. You will be asked to provide the answers to some security questions.

Refresh your browser to see system updates

In order to see any recent changes to our systems, we recommend that you carry out a hard refresh (holding the control key and F5 at the same time on Windows, or Cmd and shift and then press R on a Mac) of your browser before using the system. This will enable all styling changes to take effect.

You should also regularly delete your browser's Temporary Internet Files. Read a guide on how to delete temporary internet files.

Professional Update

Engagement in the Professional Update process is a requirement for registration with us and impacts all current registrants. The Professional Update sign-off process occurs on a 5-yearly cycle.

You need to successfully register with us before we create your MyGTCS account for you. Please read the information regarding applying for registration with GTC Scotland.

Already registered with GTC Scotland?

If you have not received an email about the creation of your MyGTCS, please use our contact form and be sure to include your registration number and date of birth.

Are you a student teacher?

Student teachers will find their details on the application portal. Access to MyGTCS is only available to teachers who are provisionally or fully registered with us.
